About the company
Powerstove was founded in 2018, to solve energy poverty in last mile communities in Africa, through provision of affordable and sustainable clean energy solutions. They use IoT and Blockchain technologies to enable remote monitoring and tracking of user behaviour and carbon offsetting with zero double-counting. They are the first indigenous, African owned, clean cookstove company to design and manufacture a clean cookstove that self-generates electricity, and are also the first clean cookstove company to launch cryptocurrency benchmarked against 1 ton of CO2eq to encourage voluntary carbon offsetting.
