Plympton Farms

Problem
Infertile sandy soils causing food insecurity for nearby communities.
Solution
An educational online game in which every tree planted virtually is also planted in real life.
About the company
Plympton Farms is one of the largest growers and exporters of tropical food ingredients in the Caribbean. By operating in remote off-the-grid indigenous communities, Plympton provides both employment on its farms and access to markets for small farmers. The project is to develop and commercialize an outdoor hydroponic growing method pioneered by Plympton, which uses low-cost grow bags and locally available sand as the growing medium.
