Green and Seed Corporation
Growing crops using biodegradable film & drip irrigation

Problem
Rise in sea-levels is expected to severely impact rice producing countries
Solution
Using biodegradable film and drip irrigation, to grow rice in arid regions.
About the company
Founder and CEO Sung-jin Choe was a farm boy, whose parents developed Seed Film Cultivation (SFC), a rice farming method using biofilm and drip irrigation. In 2018, a pilot confirmed that SFC rice farming using biofilm and drip irrigation is as possible as rice farming in flooded rice fields, without sacrificing yield compared to irrigated rice. Given the enormous water use and methane emissions that accompany rice produced in flooded rice fields, this solution has the potential to grow rice in arid regions.
