APON

Problem
Poor quality of life for garment workers in Bangladesh.
Solution
Access to cheaper products and healthcare services.
About the company
APON is a social enterprise established in 2016. APON is developing a healthcare service and product scheme for workers in garment factories in Bangladesh, resulting in greater access to basic services, at a more cost-effective rate than in the market. APON sets up shop inside factories, selling packaged and non-packaged food and other household necessities to workers at a slight discount. In partnership with many consumer goods manufacturers, these goods cost the workers about 8% to 10% less than at retail outside the factory. The APON scheme allows workers to increase their disposable income by saving on goods they already buy.
