Evolution from Imperfection at the Women-s Pavilion

Evolution from Imperfection, an immersive virtual reality (VR) exhibition by inter-disciplinary Spanish artist Silvia Sánchez, made its Middle East debut at the Women’s Pavilion, delighting visitors with its exploration of the complex tapestries of women and their journeys of transformation.

The ongoing exhibition blends traditional art with technology in a digital channel that compliments Sánchez’s artworks on display in the pavilion’s interactive space, creating a magical and meaningful experience accessible to all.

Wednesday’s premiere was attended by His Excellency Iñigo de Palacio España, Ambassador of Spain to the UAE and members of the region’s Spanish community and featured a discussion with the artist led by Maha Gorton, Head of the Women's Pavilion, Expo City Dubai.

Speaking about her inspiration, the creative process and living a character’s life through VR, Sánchez – who trains her lens on the innocence of childhood – underscored the need for women to embrace their vulnerabilities as a measure of strength and courage. Describing women as ‘superheroes’, Sánchez said she felt at home in the Women’s Pavilion, a place where commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment is reaffirmed.

Now open to the public, Evolution from Imperfection is a permanent exhibition at The Women’s Pavilion, which is open daily from 1000-1800. Pavilion entry tickets are priced at AED 50 or included in the AED 120 one-day Attractions Pass, available at www.expocitydubai.com. Entry is free for visitors aged 12 and under and people of determination.
