Rashid Mohammed

Rashid Mohammed is a UAE national with more than 10 years’ experience in the ICT industry.

In his previous role as Deputy Chief Technology Officer, he was responsible for all aspects of Expo 2020 Dubai’s information technology and telecommunications infrastructure, including the design, development and rollout of innovative platforms, ‘smart site’ solutions and the first large-scale commercial implementation of a 5G network in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region.

Rashid’s diverse education and experience have equipped him with a holistic approach to developing technology initiatives and innovative solutions. During his career, he has enabled smart government transformation by managing the implementation of a number of large-scale technology solutions. From safe city initiatives to e-government, Rashid has directly contributed to impactful innovations that are still being used today.

Rashid holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology and is currently studying for a PhD in Computer Science. His main interests include machine learning, data analytics and data science.

Rashid’s enthusiasm and commitment to his work saw him named ‘Distinguished Technical Employee’ in the 2015 Dubai Government Excellence Program awards.
